Tediji strengthens the legal value of its certifications with a report from a judicial officer

Tediji is launching an enhanced blockchain certification option that allows blockchain timestamping to be combined with an official statement from a judicial officer upon request. This service is operated in partnership with Maître Marc-Aurèle Carucci, vice president of the National Union of Judicial Officers (UNCJ), who emphasizes:
“Information technology is evolving rapidly, and judicial officers must adapt. Blockchain represents a major opportunity for our profession. Tediji is one of a new generation of solutions that can provide digital evidence much more effectively than traditional methods.”
Why?
In the event of a dispute, it is not the technology that convinces the court first, but the clarity of the evidence presented.
A blockchain timestamp, however reliable it may be in establishing the integrity of data on a specific date, is not always sufficient on its own: it must be possible to show who filed the document, when, in what context, and according to what process.
The official report of the judicial officer secures these key points and transforms the blockchain timestamp into a legally structured piece of evidence that can be used directly in court.
How?
This enhanced certification option can be activated on request for one or more documents.
The document is timestamped on the blockchain according to Tediji's standard processes, then a judicial officer intervenes to certify the anchoring operation and the associated technical elements.
Already recognized
In March 2025, the Marseille Judicial Court handed down a landmark ruling in France, recognizing the probative value of timestamps made on a public blockchain to establish the prior existence of works in a counterfeiting dispute.
In this case, the court described these elements as “prima facie evidence in writing” and accepted that the combination of a blockchain deposit and bailiff's reports could help establish not only the date of creation, but also the ownership of rights to the disputed creations.
This recognition paves the way for the growing adoption of enhanced blockchain certification in litigation.
